Contemplating the True Face of Islam and the Qur’an’s Teachings?

Contemplation.2Since the Boston Marathon Bombing, it is only natural that tempers are flared, and people are losing patience and trust with the Muslim community. As I stated in a previous article “STOP THE INSANITY NOW!” American’s have bent over backwards for the Muslim community, and this latest terrorist attack feels very much like a slap in the face.

I posted a picture on my Facebook Timeline today, which sparked a discussion between my niece and a couple of other individuals.

The Real Face of IslamMy niece made some very good points which I feel need to be shared here. She stated that she has a met few Muslims at college, who say that the individuals who carried out the bombings in Boston are extremists. My niece also pointed out that not all Muslims are like that, and that this is not the true face of Islam, “that it is the face of extremists, just like Westborough Baptist Church is not the true face of Christianity.”  Many Muslims say that they look upon these terrorists the same way the majority of Christian’s look upon or view the Christians of the Westborough Baptist Church, a bunch of nut jobs, or extremists. My niece felt that such postings only perpetuate hate and the cycle of violence, because as she put it “most people don’t and don’t care to know a real Muslim that can show them how the above statement simply isn’t true”. It was this thread that caused me to consider and contemplate what my niece had stated and the teachings of the Qur’an.

What about the Qur’an and it’s teachings to kill the infidel? Most Muslims would say that they do not interpret the Qur’an so literally. Just as Christians do not interpret so literally the Bible; for example in Deuteronomy 17:12 it states: “Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel.” No right thinking, God-fearing Christian would ever follow that verse! Then there is Leviticus 20:27 which states:  “A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortune-teller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death.” How many Christians do you see killing fortune-teller or mediums!  I for one absolutely adore John Edwards, he is a medium…should I go out and stone the man to death because the bible tells me to do so? No, that is absurd!  So why than is it so absurd to believe that there are Muslims who do NOT hold to everything the Qur’an states or preaches within its pages? For example Qur’an (3:151) States: “soon shall we cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority.”  Then there is Qur’an (2:191-193) “And slay them where every ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]… but if they desist, than lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.”

An interesting note here I obtained these quotes from the internet as I do not personally  own a Qur’an. The website is, and states the following about the above mentioned quote from the Qur’an:

The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). The use of the word “persecution” by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution –“idtihad” – and oppression – a variation of “z-l-m” – do not appear in the verse). The actual Arabic form “fitna” which can be disbelief or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until “religion is for Allah – i.e., unbelievers desist in their unbelief.”

Most American’s will agree that NOT all Muslims are terrorist, but thus far ALL terrorist in recent years have been Muslim or extreme Islamist, for those who feel it necessary to point this fact out. We see graphic images on a daily basis on the internet of the horrors of Islam, and even such well-known authors and activists such as Brigitte Gabriel who “is one of the leading terrorism experts in the world providing information and analysis on the rise of global Islamic terrorism. She lectures nationally and internationally about terrorism and current affairs. Her expertise is sought after by world and business leaders. She has addressed the Australian Prime Minister, members of The British Parliament/House of Commons, members of the United States Congress, The Pentagon, The Joint Forces Staff College, The US Special Operations Command, The US Asymmetric Warfare group, the FBI, and many others. In addition, Gabriel is a regular guest analyst on Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, and various radio stations daily across America. She serves on the board of advisors of the Intelligence Summit.”

Her credentials are impressive to say the least. It should also be noted here, that Ms. Gabriel lived in a Christian country that was taken over by Muslims and as such she has firsthand experience of “radical Muslims and radical Islam.”  Ms. Gabriel talks extensively on the infiltration of Islam in America, in our communities, and especially in our college campuses where our youth are being taught to anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism and the need to protect American from the threat of Islam. Ms. Gabriel talks about the extent to which King Fahd of Saudi Arabia has influenced academia on American college campuses. He has donated $20 Million dollars to Middle East Studies Department at the University of Arkansas, $5 million dollars donated to Berkley’s Middle East Studies Department from two Saudi Sheiks linked to Al-Qaeda.   Harvard received $22 Million dollars and $28.1 Million went to George Town University! Why did Harvard invite the Iranian President two years in a row to speak at that campus? An Iranian Dictator spoke to Harvard University on 9/11 in 2010, money sure does talk doesn’t it, and we are selling our children’s futures and their heritage to the highest bidder! It is this very infiltration onto our College campuses that encourage the youth of this country to stand up for Muslims and Islam and make excuses for their behavior while denouncing their own country.

Ms. Gabriel appeared on Hannity on Thursday April 24th along with Mike Ghouse discussing the radicalization of Tamerlan one of the Boston Marathon terrorists. In this segment Ms. Gabriel points out how since Obama took office he “changed the Threat Assessment plan to purge out any language related to radical Islam, Islamic jihadist, Islamic terrorism.”  Ms. Gabriel states; “what that lead to Sean is the blind leading the blind, because our new agent at the FBI, who are not trained to identify the ideology that is the jihadist to commit terrorist attacks like this; so now our agents that are supposed to protect us do not really know what they’re looking for they’re running in circles they are politically correct, they are afraid to say anything, those who get it, less they are afraid to be fired and discharged without honor…” she goes on to say that “we have become the mockery of the Islamic world, who laughs at us, because our enemy knows we are blind and we are choosing our blindness and burying our heads in the sand.” However harsh Ms. Gabriel’s assessment my sound, it is a fact that cannot be refuted.

According to Mike Ghouse, there are moderate Muslims speaking out against radical Islam “but not enough people.” He states that not enough venues, t.v and radio stations give an opportunity we can build a momentum.” He goes on to tell Sean that he has been able to put together 50 Muslims from across America who are willing to speak out each time something like this happens, they are willing to speak out strongly against radicalization.”  I appreciate very much his stance, and I am sure most American’s would say the same. However, we all know that Radical Islam is spreading like a cancer across the Middle East, they want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth; they are anti-Semitic, anti-American and they are extremely clear in their goal! They want a worldwide Caliphate and are willing to sacrifice their children and themselves to accomplish their goal!

They practice “Taqiyya” which is lying, and will do so to save face or to promote the cause of Islam, and it is sanctioned in the Qur’an and Sunna, including lying under oath in testimony before a court, deceiving by making distorted statements to the media such as the claim that Islam is a “religion of peace”. A Muslim is even permitted to deny or denounce his faith if, in so doing, he protects or furthers the interests of Islam, so long as he remains faithful to Islam in his heart.

My point is this, until the so-called Moderate Muslims in this country begin to stand up and denounce what their extremists counter parts are doing, the Jihadists, the radical Islamists, and the Terrorist Islamist and do so loudly, Americans will either continue to or begin to paint all Muslims with the same paint brush. I did in my previous article “STOP THE INSANITY NOW!”  It was a scathing rebuke of Muslims, and I had nothing kind or merciful to say about any Muslims and I consider myself to be an open-minded compassionate individual. I am angry, and frightened, like many other Americans, who feel their country is being swallowed by radical Islam!

Until Moderate Muslims that have immigrated to America stand up for their new country, their new homeland, and make it very clear to all American’s that they in no way condone or, agree with their radical counterparts, and would fight to the death to protect America and her people, most Americans will not be open to a conversation about bridging the gap between our two cultures, let alone our religions! Yes this does cuts both ways; I would certainly not want anyone to paint me with the same paintbrush as the Westborough Baptist Church Christians because they truly are nut jobs and extremists. But then you will find that the majority of Christians across America will stand up and say that openly on television, on radio, to anyone that will give them the opportunity and therein lies just one huge difference between American’s and Muslims!

The ‘Taqiyya’ principle is the thing that people do not know, or WANT to know anything about, and the media will NOT talk about it. If the Muslims are given a choice between evoking Taqiyya, or becoming an apostate, they will cling to their Quran and evoke Taqiyya. Becoming an apostate means certain death for them if they refuse the teachings of Allah, or Mohammed, and adhering to any rules other than Sharia.

    Great blog, Andrea!

Aunt Andie, this article was fantastic. The ability to take a step back and look at your own views shows true strength of character. Well written and insightful as always, I am proud to be your niece. Nee:)

    • I don’t normally reply to any of the comments on my blog, as I want folks to feel free to speak their minds wihtout fear of rebuttle from me… after all these posts are my babies as it were, so I am rather protective of them. But I had to reply to this comment…and say Thank you very much, to my niece! It was after all your comments that spured this post and my taking a step back. Sometimes it is necessary to take that step back, to look at things from a different angle or perspective. For that is when we begin to see our ture selves, and view others in a new light.

I agree totally with Tiffany, sometimes it is necessary to take that step back and view your perception of a subject from a wider perspective, then you are more inclined to be open minded and objective. Very well written Andrea, well researched and informative, and written in plain language that cannot be misinterpreted, great job.
