God works in mysterious ways, we have all heard that saying over and over throughout our lives, and we may have witnessed it in our own lives a time or two. During these dark and difficult days, when our enemies are many, and we feel the darkness closing around us; that is when God shines a light showing us the way out. However, we must look toward and follow the light if we are to find our way out of the darkness and back into the light.
Yes God works in mysterious ways. As Christians we are called by God to love one another, John 13:31-33A, 34-35: “When Judas had left them, Jesus said, ‘Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and God will glorify him at once. My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples,if you have love for one another.” Yet we continue to struggle with this calling because we are consumed with material things, possessions, and with anger. Kamal Salam, Author and a former terrorist put it this way: “Today we are fighting from orphan spirits and we hate the sons and daughters of the living God; this is what I was before.” Kamal Salam was born to a Muslim mother who was as Kamal described a “Zealot”, who told him everyday of his childhood “My son you will die for the sake of Allah, and when you kill Jews and Christians, Allah will celebrate your glory and your hand will light up before the throne of Allah.” Kamal dreamed of killing Jews and Christians as a child. He talks of being recruited and indoctrinated into the Mosque at an early age by the Muslim Brotherhood, the mosque was his “college study.” Here he was taught how to infiltrate nations and change them from the inside, how to marry your daughters and obtain citizenship, how to join our military to gain citizenship, how to become chaplains and spy on this nation and pass that information onto the brotherhood.
As Kamal shares his testimony, we ar given a front row seat into the world he grew up in and the life he led. A life very different then what we have here in America.
Kamal came to America for this purpose, to establish Civilization Jihad. Their struggle was against Israel and the United States of America, their goal to destroy them both and Kamal was born for this, this was his calling from Allah. But God had a different story for Kamal, one he was unaware of; one that would change his life forever. When Kamal moved to the US and began to penetrate, he began his work on college campuses, where we send our children. To Kamal this was their playground where they met with young people and changed them turning them “against you.” On the college campuses they met the professors and helped them to establish a new curriculums, so that they could change our world from within. They were no longer interested in hitting our buildings with planes, no, they concentrated on changing our youth, and one day they would hit our nation with everything they had. While our children “were fed for the wolves, while America slept.”
Kamal began to penetrate the bible belt of America, when he had a severe automobile wreck and it was during his recuperation that time that he met three Christian men, who belonged to a Christian businessmen’s group. Kamal was taken to one of the men’s homes, to heal as he had no medical insurance after he left the hospital. It was here that Kamal was for the first time introduced to the word of God. Kamal says, “you are the word of God, you are the living God that walks everyday before humankind, and if you don’t speak, the rock will cry out!” What powerful words to be spoken by a former terrorist, who was introduced to the word of God by his enemies, by the very people he came to destroy! He witnessed how the husband treated his wife, “he treated his wife like a king.” This seemed to throw Kamal, because in his country you can “have four wives and sixteen more concubines on the side and if my wife dishonors me, I have the right to kill her!” In his country, women are nothing, they are second class citizens. But in America the wife is telling her husband “to clean the bathroom.“
Today, the America flag holds great meaning for Kamal, and the Christian’s that gave him freedom and today Kamal lives in that Liberty and “nobody tells [him] how to live [his] life including Barrack Obama.” Kamal was introduced to unconditional love, the love that God teaches us to have for one another, the love that Jesus Christ has for each and every one of his children here on earth. Kamal had never experienced that kind of love, for in his country, everything was conditional, and if someone crossed you, you had the “full right” to kill them. Kamal witnessed the relationship Christians have with God, and was amazed at how “God speaks to you day and night! Your God comes before you and makes every crooked way straight, and he crowned you with favor and he has a hedge of protection around you and he said nothing can harm you because I am Jehovah God Almighty!“
His Christian family bought him a car, gave him the keys and told Kamal to go home, he was well enough to leave. When he did return home he says “I fell on my knees facing the eastern window, and I talked to my god Allah, Allah my lord and my king, why have you done such a thing to me, I’m willing to die for you, but you put me among christians; these Christians are crazy, they don’t know what’s going to hit them yet; but they talk to their God and their God answers them; they speak to him and he speaks to them. I want to hear your voice, I want to hear that you love me, if you are real speak to me.” Allah did not answer. It was than that Kamal decided to take his own life, because if he did not, his comrade would, if he went to his brothers they would, his sisters they would, even his own parents would kill him. It was in this moment, that the Lord god spoke to Kamal, God asked him to pray in the name of Father Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and when Kamal called upon God, he was there.
Kamal tells us that our “God is alive and not dead and that he is still in the business of bringing people to the living God.” With a smile on his face, and a glow from within, Kamal says, “how do your change a terrorist, introduce him to Jesus!” Kamal reminds us what the bible says, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Revelation 12:11
Today, a former terrorist gave me a lesson in humility, a former terrorist gave me a lesson in unconditional love, and how my journey with God is not only for me, my journey is meant to touch the hearts, the minds and the souls of others, “He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
